Samantha Evans Saltzburg

Samantha Evans Saltzburg is an experienced attorney with a practice focused on higher education and employment law. She advises institutions and individuals on a wide array of legal and compliance issues, offering strategic guidance with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach.

Higher Education

Sam provides comprehensive advice on higher education matters related to student affairs, academic policy, and regulatory compliance. Her work includes guiding institutional leadership on issues involving school discipline, student conduct proceedings, academic dismissals, and compliance with federal laws including the ADA and Section 504. She also advises on governance, policy development, and managing risk across departments, helping institutions align their operations with federal and state regulations such as FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IX, and state nondiscrimination laws.

With experience representing both institutions and students, Sam offers a unique, well-rounded perspective. She has counseled students through complex university disciplinary processes, including dismissal proceedings, which deepens her insight into due process and procedural fairness in higher education settings.

Employment Law

Sam provides counsel on a variety of workplace issues affecting corporate institutions, institutions of higher education, as well as employees. She advises institutional clients on employment policies, hiring practices, workplace investigations, and compliance with employment-related laws including Title VII, the FMLA, and wage and hour regulations. Sam has also counseled individual employees in matters involving discrimination, wrongful termination, and misconduct investigations.

Her work supports human resources and university leadership in addressing employee relations, disciplinary actions, and legal exposure.  Sam’s counsel helps institutions foster legally sound, inclusive, and equitable working environments while minimizing risk and promoting organizational integrity.

Education and Background

Sam earned her Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law and a Bachelor of Science at Nova Southeastern University, School of Business and Entrepreneurship. While attending law school, Sam received the book awards in Legal Research and Writing and Worker’s Compensation, as well as served as a member of the Nova Trial Association from 2013-2016 . During law school, Sam clerked for a personal injury firm handling damages claims for clean-up workers injured during the 2010 BP Oil Spill.  Sam has published articles in The Florida Bar Journal, Vol. 91, No. 8 and The Public Interest Journal, Vol. 5, Issue #2.

Sam is a member of the Florida Bar and is a member of the Legal Resources Committee for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
